Earvin Johnson is truly "Magic." As point guard of the Los Angeles Lakers, he led his team to five championships during the 1980s, claiming three NBA Playoff MVP Awards and three NBA MVP Awards. Johnson's diligent playing even inspired the addition of the term "triple-double" to the basketball lexicon. Meanwhile, Larry Bird, during his 13 years as a Boston Celtic, was the 1980 Rookie of the Year, a 12-time NBA All-Star and scored more than 21,000 career points. In addition to leading the Green and White to three championships, Bird was co-captain of the first U.S.A. Dream Team and led them to Olympic gold in 1992. Never was basketball more exciting than when the Lakers and Celtics faced off, pitting legend against legend in a rivalry for the ages. For the record, the Lakers and Celtics won an astounding eight combined championships between them during the 1980s. Larry Bird and Magic Johnson have each hand signed this indoor/outdoor Spalding basketball. A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
