The 1968 Detroit Tigers clinched their first American League Pennant since 1945, when they beat the Chicago Cubs in the World Series. Led by the first 30-game winner since 1934, the Tigers posted the best record in all of baseball, winning 103 games. Al Kaline, "Mr. Tiger", helped the Tigers rebound from a three to one deficit in the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
