In his second year at Tennessee, Delmonico set a school record with a 41-19 record. He also spent 6 years as the head assistant coach with Florida State University, where he helped coach the team to three college world series. Delmonico, who received his master's degree in education from Clemson University in 1983, is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association. Delmonico has written extensively for Scholastic Coach since 1980 and, in a 10-year period, has published over 40 articles in numerous other magazines.
