Negro National League. Exact reproduction of the 1944 road jersey. Authentic gray baseball wool flannel with felt applique lettering, Stars-and-stripes patch and "W" for Washington on sleeve. Cool Papa Bell's #18 on back. Made in USA. In the 1940s, the Homestead Grays played home games at Washington's Griffith Stadium, bringing with them the powerhouse lineup that included first baseman Buck Leonard and catcher Josh Gibson. They often outdrew the lowly Senators. Negro leagues legend Cool Papa Bell was known as The Fastest Man in Baseball.This item is also available in sizes Small - XXL.
