Summer Camp Job/Internship, Airfield 4-H Educational Center, Wakefield, VA
Airfield 4-H Educational Center in Wakefield, Virginia is currently looking for applications for
summer Instructional Staff. Our 4-H Summer camping program serves primarily youth ages 9-13.
College students are hired seasonally to teach classes and plan and implement various aspects of
the camping program. Internship credit may be available!
Positions Available: Lifeguard/Aquatics, Camp EMT, and Instructional Staff in the following class
areas: - Robotics
- Leadership
- Animal Science
- Theatrical Arts
- Journalism/Multimedia
- Leathercraft
- Cooking
- Low Ropes/Challenge Course
- Rifle
- Archery
- Shotgun
- Canoeing

Staff will earn a weekly salary and paid bi-weekly throughout the summer
Lodging and meals are provided for staff Sunday-Friday
Options for weekend lodging may be provided on a case by case basis
Training- attendance at State Staff Training (May 12-15, 2009) and On-site training
(June 7-12, 2009) is required.
Applicants seeking positions in shooting sports or aquatics/canoeing will be required to have
additional training prior to the beginning of camp. Opportunities for training/certification
may be provided by the center as available.

Occupational Summary:
Promote all areas of golf at Hammock Bay Golf Club, making every effort to ensure that individuals
enjoy their golfing experience. Direct the flow of play and assist as necessary to ensure golfers
progress through their rounds in a timely and appropriate manner.
Work Performed:
Direct the flow of play, politely moving along slow groups, to ensure and 18-hole round is
completed within established time frames; monitor play by riding the golf course in the opposite
direction from play, being mindful not to interfere or disturb players when they are about to
play a shot; record the number of players and golf car usage.
Inform players of golf course rules and/or special instructions for that day in accordance with
established policies and procedures; remind players of rules if they appear to be in violation.
Help keep the golf course attractive, neat and clean by monitoring waste disposal.
Check all players for cash register receipts prior to their teeing off.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Middle School Athletics Coaches!
Coaches are required to teach the fundamentals in a supportive
manner at team practices and to oversee their teams during games/meets during the season. Practices
take place 3 days a week, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:30pm. Games/meets will
take place twice a week between 4:00 and 7:00pm. Fall season runs from September 2nd-October
23rd. This is a temporary position (limited hourly). Positions in this classification work less
than 1,000 hours per fiscal year and are not benefitted. Fingerprinting and TB testing is
required.
