Twelve years after their arrival from Seattle, the Milwaukee Brewers clinched their first American League pennant. Minnesota native Paul Molitor helped lead the Brew Crew to Milwaukee's first World Series since 1958, when the then Braves lost to the New York Yankees. Molly finished the year with 201 hits and a .302 average. In the first game of the 1982 World Series, against the St. Louis Cardinals, Molitor collected five hits in six at bats. Despite leading the series three games to one, Milwaukee fell to the St. Louis Cardinals in the seventh and decisive game.
