In 1997, Jim's $1,619,480 set the PGA Tour record for the most money won without a victory. Jim had 13 top-10 finishes and the year was culminated with his selection to the Ryder Cup team, which he represented well - beating Nick Faldo twice in singles competition.

With top finishes in 1998, Jim continues to show that he is one of the young guns and future stars of the PGA Tour. While attending the University of Arizona, Jim was twice named First Team All Pac-10 and was a two time All American selection.
